Chrissy: Last night we slept really well, but I didn't want to get up because I was so tired. We went to a history museum this morning and looked at some things about ancient Japan. We came back to Emi's house for lunch (which was amazing home-cooked food).
Emi had a bad toothache so she went to the dentist while we hung out with her sister-in-law and her cute niece. We watched a TERRIBLE Japanese comedy show which was about some feudal lord. Apparently it's famous and he's a great comedian. It was very much like the Benny Hill show.
Later we went to a calligraphy class with Emi and her mum. The sensei was a really nice lady who let us join in and practice some calligraphy. When we had practiced enough, we wrote it on some nice pieces of card with gilded edges. I wrote "Winter", Chucky wrote "Japan". We wrote in Kanji. Then the sensei wrote "Dream" in two different types of Kanji (Japanese kind and Chinese kind) on two pieces of nice card for us, and put her personal stamp on it. It was such a beautiful gift! I felt honoured. My dad had given me two of his uncirculated 1964 half-pennies to give to people who were kind to us, so I gave one to her. I think it was a nice thing to do.
Back at Emi's we had a ridiculously nice dinner that I ate way too much of. Then I had a bath in their ridiculous bath. Happiness reigns.
